Is this puzzler worth pulling the trigger for?
Block & Shot will immerse you in the captivating world of logical puzzles, where you will have to control various weapons to overcome obstacles in your path and reach the main goal – the golden cartridge.
Block & Shot is a puzzle game set in small stages. The object is to reach the bullet at the end of the stage by aiming the gun in the right direction and pulling the trigger, which makes it flip in different directions depending on how you have it rotated. There are various obstacles in the way like walls, lava and water, while you can also run out of ammo if you aren’t careful.
Objects like trampolines are placed to help you, but you will need to work out the right sequence to make good use of them to reach the goal. There are over 50 stages to get into and while it starts out simple enough, it gets quite complicated as you progress.
The visuals are simple, but effective. Load times between stages are short and you can reset your turn by tapping a button. The controls are very easy to get to grips with too. Achievement hunters will be pleased to know the 1000 is obtainable just by playing and I’m sure there will be guides out there if you just want to breeze through, though I personally prefer to work these sort of puzzles out for myself.
The Verdict
Block & Shot is a simple idea, but one that is executed well. It handles well enough and has some challenging stages, plus for just under £9 you get over 50 stages, so it’s good value overall.
