I’ve been looking for a decent controller lately for my laptop, phone and even my TV. I was lucky enough to receive the PowerA OPS v1 Wireless Controller for Cloud Gaming Fortnite Edition as a sample, so let’s take it for a spin…
First of all, this controller is incredibly comfortable to hold and feels like a joy to use. The Fortnite Edition comes with a code for an Assault Bomber Glider that you can use in-game, so there’s a little bonus for you if you happen to like Fortnite. I mean, you must like Fortnite to get this controller…right?
After using it for a number of shooters on different devices, I was impressed with the quality and precision that it offered. I also thought the dual-rumble was impressive overall, I mean it’s not on the same scale as the DualSense’s haptic feedback, but it’s still impressive overall. It’s also very easy to remap the buttons on the back.
Connecting it to different devices is pretty easy and there’s different options to do it, plus it lasts a good 20+ hours on a single charge…which is pretty decent for a controller in today’s market. The triggers have a nice hall effect that feels reliable and more precise, which definitely helps when it comes to shooters.
