Does this fitness game pack a punch?

Jump into a single Quick Workout, or build an exercise routine that fits your life. New additions to the series include Mitt Drills to practice combos with your instructor and Sit Fit Boxing to work up a sweat without leaving your seat. Whether youā€™re after a serious burn or just a bit of stretching, the intensity of your workout is up to you!

It’s been a while since Iā€™ve played a fitness game and itā€™s definitely the first time Iā€™ve played a Fitness Boxing: Your Personal Trainer game before. You use the Joy-cons to simulate using your fists to workout in numerous ways. The great thing is that you can play it anyway you want, so if you want a quick workout or to really push yourself, you can. The choice is yours.

Thereā€™s a nice variety of exercises for you to do, as well as a two-player mode that lets you use either 1 Joy-con each (or 2 if you have a spare set) to work out together. The soundtrack includes instrumental versions of popular songs like Kenny Logginsā€™ ā€œDanger Zoneā€, The Ghostbusters theme, as well as songs from the likes of Billie Eilish, Britney Spears and Fall Out Boy to name a few.

The visuals are fairly standard, but do have a nice charm to them. The framerate always seems solid and I didnā€™t come across any glitches during my workouts. Overall, I was impressed with what was on offer here. Thereā€™s even a free demo so you can try before you buy.

The Verdict

Fitness Boxing 3: Your Personal Trainer is a decent fitness game. It has a good variety of exercises and customisation options, as well as a decent track list to work out to. If you are looking to get a sweat on after indulging yourself this Christmas, you canā€™t go wrong here.
